With a little experience in the cocktail and drinks industry, I still have a love for the look of a well made drink. This is the first time I have created glass using, specular and reflective maps etc. I started off creating a simple shape of a Coupe glass, using '3' or 'smoothing' to smooth out the mesh. I had added an inner section to the glass, and a separate object for the liquid in the glass. I have added my garnish which is the 2 olives on a cocktail stick. As you can see I focused here on fleshing out the look, I knew I wanted a marble table textured so. However when trying to create a perfect looking glass material I found it hard and had to search for a good tutorial for settings and tips. With these 3 you can tell my attempt in understanding the material, I wanted it translucent yet with the reflectivity high. Anyway I managed to find this amazing page which I would highly recommend: https://cgi.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-realist...
I decided yesterday to go out and create something small, but see what I could do with it.. I chose the rose. And using this tutorials I slowly built up my rose model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78Ll-0Z6KM8&feature=share I then wasn't sure how to pose my rose, or present it and of course I thought of beauty and the beast. SO here is the inspired beauty and the beast rose. My tests below are all about lighting, its the most infuriating yet satisfying thing with 3D. (I wanted the 'Disney' glow) Here I decided my marble table needed some bump mapping. By this point everything I was doing was minimal and half the time I didn't even have a clue. So I pause to look at my maps. Texture, bump and transparency. (under the petals, adds a little colour) Here this confused me... I still wouldn't be able to tall you straight off which colour is see through and which isn't. But basically black and white inve...
